I have been looking further into textile artists and designers to gather some technique and style inspiration when I begin my samples. Here are a few I have been looking at.
This is the work of an artist called Susie Cowie. Susie Cowie is a textile designer and consultant, with particular expertise in embroidery and print. What attracted me to her work was her intricate and delicate way of working. She also works in a very 3 dimensional way creating amazing texture and life to her work. I have never been an artist to work with simple 2 dimensional techniques so adding that little but extra to a piece to create a wan to touch it is always interesting to me.
Donna Downey is an artist that takes inspiration from landscapes and her surroundings. I find her work beautiful as she plays around with loose embroidery and works on top of different surfaces creating a deep sense of texture and depth.
This is an unknown artist I came across on Pinterest when searching for artists. There was no name, however I love the style they're working in! The simplicity of the fine lines to create such a detailed and beautiful image. The fact that it isnt a perfect drawing with perfect lines but the messy threads add a bit of something else to it.
