Today I have been working on some embroidered samples, I have been varying my thread thicknesses to create different effects and textures. the first sample I created a simple motif out of a print a used really small stitches to create a little seeding effect and texture. However I wasnt too keen on the motif style and thought i could work better on a full print and create much more outcomes.
Using the colours in my prints I hand dyed my material before using the sewing style of that unknown artist i talked about earlier, the one with the birds?
She used a fine stitch leaving even gaps between stitches, I really liked the gentle touch that gave to the drawing so tried to give it a whirl myself. I really like the stitch style but it was extremely time consuming and maybe on a nicer printed fabric.
